City officials yesterday filed an amended, stronger Trust Act.

The ordinance, which first passed in 2014, prohibits Boston police from detaining undocumented immigrants just because federal immigration officials ask them to.

These proposed changes would further clarify the role of Boston police when it comes to federal immigration laws and the changes comes after WBUR's reporting on a 2017 immigration arrest that involved Boston police.
