Boston School Committee Chairperson Resigns After Community Outcry

Boston School Committee Chairperson Michael Loconto resigned Thursday after being caught on a hot mic during a late night committee meeting.

During a Boston School Committee meeting over Zoom Wednesday night, Loconto appeared to mock the names of participants in the virtual meeting, and was caught on his microphone.

The eight-and-a-half hour meeting was focused primarily on a vote to suspend for one year the use of an exam for admission to Boston's exam schools.
