Boston Globe's Billy Baker On The Importance Of Friendship

We're in the midst of a global pandemic that makes safe, in-person hangouts very difficult.

But even so, when was the last time you actually hung out and connected with your friends? There's no doubt that in recent years it's become harder and harder to stay connected.

At least that was the experience of the Boston Globe's Billy Baker. At 40, his editor assigned him to "write about how middle aged men have no friends." That assignment led him on a journey to find out why this happens, and to reconnect with his friends.

He writes about it in his new memoir "We Need To Hang Out."
