With omicron 'inevitable' in the US, how do we model the next phase of the pandemic?

06:39

The seven-day positive coronavirus test rate in Massachusetts is now just over 3.7%, which is more than double what it was at the beginning of this month.

That's also the highest rate reported since the beginning of the year, in January. And scientists predict the new, potentially more infectious variant of coronavirus will 'inevitably' show up in the US too.

This segment aired on November 30, 2021.
