Looking at the raw numbers here in Massachusetts, it seems we're headed in the wrong direction, with  more than 11,000 confirmed COVID-19 cases reported over the weekend. That brings the test positivity rate to close to 5%, more than double the level we saw just a month ago.

The omicron variant is on very much on our minds, as are testing, boosters, hospitals and kids vaccinations.

We take listener questions with Dr. Michael Hirsh, Medical Director of the Department of Public Health in Worcester, and director of pediatric trauma at UMass Memorial Health. And Dr. Todd Ellerin, director of infectious diseases at South Shore Health.

This segment aired on December 7, 2021.
