When students come back from February vacation, some will be able to leave the masks at home. Governor Baker announced today that the state mask mandate for schools will be lifted February 28th, though it will be up to individual districts – and families – to decide whether or not they want to keep masks on. We talk about the move and take listener calls with Dr. Katherine Gergen-Barnett, Vice Chair of Family Medicine at Boston Medical Center, Dana Bentley, assistant professor in early childhood programs at Lesley University and a classroom teacher at Buckingham Browne and Nichols School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and Almi Abeyta, superintendent for Chelsea Public Schools.

This segment aired on February 9, 2022.
