President Biden has called Russia's most recent actions of deploying troops to two regions of eastern Ukraine a "flagrant" violation of international laws, in a speech made on Tuesday. Biden said this, as well as Russia's continued stockpiling of blood and other supplies at the Ukrainian border, are signs of the beginning stages of an invasion. In response, Biden announced "defensive" military moves and sanctions against Russia to be instated in the coming days.

Meanwhile, more than 30,000 people in Massachusetts identified as Ukrainian, as of 2016. U.S. Congressman for Massachusetts' fourth district Jake Auchincloss has been working with some of them in light of the intensifying crisis in Ukraine. He joins us to discuss the President's remarks and the implications of rising tensions with Russia both abroad and here in the commonwealth.

This segment aired on February 22, 2022.
