This is the Radio Boston rundown for Oct. 26. Tiziana Dearing is our host.

  • On Monday, the Supreme Court will hear arguments in two cases, including one brought against Harvard, that could drastically change the way colleges and universities handle the admissions process. The decision could have a massive impact on the hundreds of thousands of college students who call Boston home. Natasha Warikoo, author of "Is Affirmative Action Fair?" joins the conversation.
  • Birds are moving in and out of this region right now. This mass exodus — or entrance — happens twice a year: in the spring, and in the fall. Each time, the environment around us changes for the season to come. We speak with lifelong birder Neil Hayward, who serves on the board of the Brookline Bird Club and the American Birding Association, and is author of the book “Lost Among the Birds: Accidentally Finding Myself in One Very Big Year."
  • Cognoscenti, WBUR’s ideas and opinion page, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this fall. As part of the anniversary celebration, Radio Boston will be featuring a few Cog contributors for an extended conversation about their work. We kick off the series with Joanna Weiss and learn about her Milton-bad mom rock band, The Lazy Susans.

This program aired on October 26, 2022.
