Radio Boston discusses Harvard President Claudine Gay’s resignation. The university’s first Black president was accused of plagiarism and an inadequate response to allegations of antisemitism on campus. After a pressure campaign from activists, donors and Republican lawmakers, Gay resigned.

The conversation goes beyond Harvard. Gay’s resignation raises questions about race in leadership, as well as power and influence in institutions of learning. Renee Landers, professor of Law and faculty director at Suffolk University Law School, and Cornell William Brooks, professor of Public Leadership and Social Justice at the Harvard Kennedy School, join the show, along with WBUR reporter Max Larkin.

This segment aired on January 3, 2024.
