16:50

Boston's new mixtape dropped this month. It features six local DJs and 17 musicians across different genres. "Dear Summer Vol. 2," which follows last year's "Dear Summer Vol. 1" is a project funded by the city.

Artists featured in the mixtape will perform ay "Homemade," a public family concert at City Hall Plaza on Saturday Sept. 7.

WBUR's Radio Boston spoke to people behind the project: John Borders IV, Boston's director of tourism, sports and entertainment, and Chimel Idiotikas, aka DJ Real P. Also joining the conversation was Abdourahmane Doumbouya, a.k.a. Caliph, a Grammy-award winning artist featured in the mixtape.

This segment aired on July 19, 2024.
