Trump administration plan to re-vet refugees frustrates local immigrant resettlement agencies
The Trump administration announced plans to re-vet and re-interview refugees who were admitted to the U.S. during Biden's presidency.
Jeff Thielman, who leads the immigration resettlement agency International Institute of New England, said he believes the policy is a waste of government resources and an attempt to deport more immigrants. Members of his resettlement agency plan to accompany immigrants to their initial interviews.
Thielman joined WBUR's Morning Edition to discuss what this means for the thousands of refugees living in Massachusetts.
