New book tells the story of the art thief who stole a Rembrandt from Boston's Museum of Fine Arts
Anthony Amore is chief investigator at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. He's charged with solving the notorious 1990 art heist, where thieves took more than a dozen works of art from the museum, including three works by Rembrandt.
Amore has a new book out about a Rembrandt heist at a famous Boston museum. But it's not about the Gardner.
"The Rembrandt Heist: The Story of a Criminal Genius, a Stolen Masterpiece, and an Enigmatic Friendship" tells the story of Myles Connor and his career as an art thief, including his robbery of a Rembrandt from Boston's Museum of Fine Arts 50 years ago.
Amore joins WBUR's Morning Edition to talk about the book and how he hopes it get the city closer to solving the Gardner heist.
This segment aired on December 22, 2025.
