Boston plumber has tips to protect your pipes during polar vortex

A one-two punch of arctic air brought in by the polar vortex and a major snowstorm will hit southern New England this weekend.

The combination means we'll be shivering and shoveling, as well as trying to keep pipes from bursting.

Mike Flanagan, owner of plumbing and heating contractor Trethewey Brothers, Inc. in Boston, spoke with WBUR's All Things Considered host Lisa Mullins about how to protect your home.
