This week's show featured excerpts from the 18th annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day commemoration ceremonies at Boston University. The program is similar from year to year but its theme varies. The 2003's theme was titled "The American Dream."

Darnell Williams, president and CEO of the Urban League of Eastern Massachusetts, talked about the connections between King's work in the 1960s and the problems that the United States faces today.

Rabbi Joseph Polak delivered the invocation at this year's commemoration. The Seminary Singers from the Boston University School of Theology and the Boston University Inner Strength Gospel Choir also performed musical selections.

This program aired on January 26, 2003.
