Scott Kirsner: GE Is Coming To Boston 'To Plug Into The Innovation Economy'
PlayGeneral Electric, the company founded by Thomas Edison and long known for light bulbs, is now a $130 billion behemoth and the eighth largest company in the U.S.
And as of Wednesday, it's official: GE has chosen Boston as the new site for its corporate headquarters. GE confirmed the news after it was first reported Wednesday morning by The Boston Globe.
Scott Kirsner, the Globe's innovation columnist, joined WBUR's All Things Considered to discuss what the decision means for GE and for Boston.
