After four successful seasons adapting folktales from around the world as audio plays starring beloved voices from stage, screen, podcast, and public radio, WBUR’s award-winning children’s podcast, Circle Round, returns for a fifth season on September 7, 2021, with stories of Australian, Brazilian, Burmese, Canadian, Chinese, Estonian, Ethiopian, Finnish, Indian, Japanese, Jewish, Korean, Mexican, Native American, Persian, Peruvian, Russian, Tibetan, and West African origin, among others.

With more than 1-million monthly downloads in 200 countries, Circle Round will debut a series of picture/activity books in July 2022, published by Workman imprint Storey Publishing. In November 2021, Circle Round will record three live episodes with Boston Symphony Orchestra musicians and an all-star cast at Tanglewood Music Center. And in April 2022, Circle Round will partner with other top kids’ podcasts for a weekend-long festival, WBUR's Podcast Playdate, featuring live performances at WBUR’s CitySpace in Boston.

Circle Round’s fifth season coincides with NPR’s 50th anniversary, and includes appearances by well-known public-radio voices including Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me’s Peter Sagal, Alonzo Bodden, Mo Rocca, and Faith Salie. Since launching in 2017, Circle Round has featured NPR veterans like Ailsa Chang, Ofeibea Quist-Arcton, Guy Raz, Sam Sanders, Ari Shapiro, Lakshmi Singh, Susan Stamberg, Shankar Vedantam, Glynn Washington, and Linda Wertheimer.

New episodes of Circle Round drop Tuesdays at 3 p.m. ET and are available here, on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you listen to podcasts. You can follow the program on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.

Circle Round is made possible in part by sponsors including Policy Genius, Netflix and Ritual Vitamins.
