The pandemic is reintroducing Americans to their kitchens. Flour and yeast have flown off the shelves and social media has been flooded with photos of homemade focaccias, cakes, tarts and sourdough breads. Baking has become a passion, a comfort and a family activity for millions.

Join Kathy Gunst, resident chef for WBUR and NPR’s Here & Now and co-author of "Rage Baking"; Katherine Alford, co-author of "Rage Baking"; and contributor Vallery Lomas, season three winner of ABC's "Great American Baking Show." They will walk us through two recipes from the book and discuss ways that baking can connect and ground us during these turbulent times.

Featured recipes will be a Three-Berry Gallette (click link for recipe) and Lemon bars (click link for recipe). To bake along, have your ingredients ready to make the galette dough and the lemon squares along with Kathy, Katherine and Vallery.

This event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is requested. Want to submit questions before the class? Go to slido.com and entering event code #CC618.

If you'd like to add "Rage Baking" to your collection, you can purchase it from Harvard BookstorePorter Square Books or Brookline Booksmith.
