Every year, thousands of independent musicians submit videos to NPR’s Tiny Desk Contest in the hopes of being discovered. As they have for the past three years, WBUR's arts and culture team convened a panel to choose its favorite from among more than 150 Massachusetts entries. This year, it's HEESU!

Growing up in Seoul, South Korea, HEESU loved to belt K-pop at the city’s nuraebangs (Korean karaoke rooms). A recent graduate of Berklee College of Music, HEESU brought that same infectious energy to her Tiny Desk Contest performance of her original song “Me.”

Join us in January to experience HEESU live! Miranda Rae, one of WBUR's other favorite submissions, will open for HEESU at the show.
