Why is everything beige?

The color design company Pantone’s color of the year for 2026 is the poetically named Cloud Dancer.

The white color choice seems to be in line with a lot of recent quiet luxury trends. The aesthetics of everything from coffee shops to kitchens seems to be leaning into beige or colorless.
