WBUR with media consortium to host series of primary debates

WBUR in partnership with WCVB Channel 5 and The Boston Globe will host five live debates in the primary races for lieutenant governor, secretary of state, attorney general and auditor. The debates will feature candidates from both parties in the primary races for lieutenant governor, in addition to the Democratic candidates in primary races for secretary of state, attorney general and state auditor.

The five debates will be broadcast live on WBUR 90.9 FM during the 11 a.m. hour of Radio Boston.

The debates will be moderated by a variety of journalists across the media consortium including WBUR's Tiziana Dearing, Steve Brown and Darryl C. Murphy; WCVB's political reporter Sharman Sacchetti; and The Boston Globe's Taylor Dolven.

The debates will also be livestreamed by the partners on WBUR.org, WCVB.com, BostonGlobe.com, as well as New England Public Media websites.

Outside media and the general public are welcome to attend the attorney general debate, Republican and Democratic lieutenant governor debates held in the Davis Family Theater on the ground level at WBUR's CitySpace. The public can register to attend by visiting WBUR's events page. Media and the general public will not be allowed to attend the debates for secretary of state and auditor, which will be held inside WBUR's studios.
