Massachusetts 5th District Congresswoman Katherine Clark has taken a big jump up in terms of clout in the Democratic Party and in Congress.

Her peers have elected her vice chair of the House Democratic Caucus. That makes her the sixth-highest-ranking member of House leadership. And, the second-highest-ranking woman, behind Nancy Pelosi, who is expected to become House speaker.

Congresswoman Katherine Clark joined All Things Considered on the phone from Washington on Thursday.

This segment aired on November 29, 2018.
