Joining us from Northhampton, Mass., is Tracy Kidder, author of "Mountains Beyond Mountains: The Quest of Dr. Paul Farmer, A Man Who Would Cure the World." His latest book is "Strength in What Remains: A Journey of Remembrance and Forgiveness."

From Miami, we're joined by Marleine Bastien, founder and executive director of Haitian Women of Miami and co-founder of the Haitian-American Grassroots Coalition. She is a Democratic candidate for US Congress in the Miami-based 17th district of Florida.

And from Washington, we're joined by Larry Birns, director of the Washington-based think tank Council on Hemispheric Affairs.
