Thomas Menino, Boston's Longest-Serving Mayor, Dies At 71

Thomas Menino, the longest-serving mayor in Boston history, who guided the city for 20 transformative years, has lost his last battle.

Menino passed away Thursday morning of cancer that had metastasized and spread to his liver and lymph nodes. He was 71.
