Resume

The T is in trouble. Ridership is down as much as 70% and the MBTA faces a $300 million deficit. So now, General Manager Steve Poftak is proposing deep cuts to service. These changes could have significant implications for the region's workforce. We take listener calls and discuss with local transit leaders.

We talk to Jim Aloisi, former Massachusetts Secretary of Transportation and board member of the group Transit Matters, and Jarred Johnson, the Chief Operating Officer of TransitMatters. We also get input from Mela Miles, who is the director of Transit-Oriented Development and the T Rider's Union at Alternatives for Community and Environment.

This segment aired on November 10, 2020.
