Discussing Mental Health Through The Lens Of Sports
ResumeThere's no doubt that the year-long pandemic has taken a toll on our mental health. We've seen isolation, anxiety, and fear spike. According to the Kaiser Family Foundation, 4 in 10 adults have reported symptoms of anxiety or depressive disorder during the pandemic, up from 1 in 10 in the previous year. And for young adults, ages 18-24, it's even higher, at 56%.
We talk with two licensed clinical therapists who believe sports can provide a useful tool to help open dialogue around mental health. Jon Cuhna and Jotham Busfield, co-hosts of The Grim Drive podcast, join us to talk about the intersection of sports and mental health.
