People may not think of Massachusetts as having a hot climate. But as we all experienced this weekend, it can get hot here.

Very hot.

In Chelsea, the entire city is considered a heat island — an urban area that is significantly warmer than the surrounding region.

In this week's "From the Newsroom" segment, WBUR health reporter Martha Bebinger tells Radio Boston what she's learned reporting on ways Chelsea has tried to address its problems with heat.

This segment aired on May 16, 2022.
