A proposed Muslim cemetery has sparked intense and sustained opposition in the rural town of Dudley since January. But there are signs that officials may be moving toward negotiation and compromise.

The town's Board of Selectmen met Monday night in executive session for 45 minutes before emerging in open meeting. Ultimately, the board decided once again not to hold a vote that day on whether to purchase the land the Islamic Society of Greater Worcester wants to use to build its cemetery.

This segment aired on August 9, 2016.
