W. Kamau Bell describes himself as a "socio-political comedian and dad." He's best known for his Emmy-nominated show that runs on CNN. Bell describes his comedic documentary series "United Shades of America" as a show about "a black guy going places you wouldn't expect him to go."

We spoke to him about mixing race and politics and why he's choosing to laugh (rather than cry) in the face of the election.

W. Kamau Bell will be performing at the Wilbur Theater on Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016.
