Today at the U.S. District Court in Boston, attorneys made opening arguments in the re-sentencing trial of Gary Lee Sampson.

Thirteen years ago Sampson became the first federal defendant ever sentenced to death in Massachusetts. But in 2011, the judge overturned that sentence, because one of the jurors in the case lied during jury selection.
