Back in 2011, we talked to the Rhode Island band, Brown Bird. The duo, Dave Lamb and MorganEve Swain, had just taken the Newport Folk Festival by storm. They got married and became a fixture in a growing group of musically restless, lyrically honest songwriters.

It was a heady few years. Followed by unexpected news. Dave Lamb was diagnosed with leukemia. He died in April 2014. Despite his illness, though, Lamb and Swain had been at work on a new album. And despite losing her partner in music and in life, MorganEve Swain decided to finish the record. It's called "Axis Mundi."

This is a rebroadcast of a conversation which originally aired May 7, 2015.
