In the U.S., there's one institution, and even one person, who wields significant power over the country's money and our economy: the Fed Chair.

The history of why that is, and how we got to this place, is the subject of a book by Boston-based journalist, Roger Lowenstein. We spoke to him in 2015 about his book, "America's Bank: The Epic Struggle To Create The Federal Reserve."
