Three detainees held by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement are seeking medical treatment following a violent incident that occurred on Friday night. The detainees reported symptoms of COVID-19, but the violence occurred after they resisted a transfer for testing.

There are still conflicting reports about how and why the violence started. We'll hear from both sides – first from Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson, and then Executive Director of Lawyers for Civil Rights Iván Espinoza-Madrigal. Also, WBUR's Shannon Dooling breaks down what she's found through her reporting on the story.

This segment aired on May 4, 2020.
