Online Membership To White Supremacist Groups Jumps After President Trump's Debate Comment

15:14

At Tuesday's presidential debate, President Trump declined to condemn white supremacist groups, instead telling a group called the Proud Boys to "stand back and stand by."

Researchers at the Harvard Kennedy School who track online hate groups say they've seen hundreds more people join since then, including here in New England.

We speak to Joan Donovan, Research Director of the Shorenstein Center on Media, Politics and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.

This segment aired on October 1, 2020.
