'A Surge Upon A Surge': Answering Listeners' Coronavirus Questions

This article is more than 2 years old.

We're five days out from Thanksgiving, and just over three weeks away from Christmas.

Fewer people traveled for Thanksgiving this year than in 2019, but air travel still broke a pandemic-era record. Increased holiday travel, coupled with cold weather driving people inside, has Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, worried about a "surge upon a surge."

We answer listener coronavirus questions with Dr. Helen Boucher, Chief of the Division of Geographic Medicine and Infectious Diseases at Tufts Medical Center, and a professor at the Tufts University School of Medicine; and Dr. Joshua Barocas, Infectious diseases physician and Assistant Professor of Medicine at Boston Medical Center and the Boston University School of Medicine.

This segment aired on December 1, 2020.
