WBUR Investigation Reveals Hundreds Of Businesses In Mass. Violated COVID Safety Rules
PlayState data show more than 1,000 businesses in Massachusetts have faced complaints that they failed to protect workers sufficiently from the coronavirus.
WBUR's investigative team has been examining the complaints and found four industries comprise the overwhelming majority of complaints resulting in violations of state standards: retail, restaurants, gyms, and salons.
As we face a holiday season critical to small business survival, and increasing calls to shut businesses down again during a second infection surge, what's behind the complaints, and are businesses, on balance, keeping employees safe?
We break it all down with WBUR's Shannon Dooling.
