This is the Radio Boston rundown for Jan. 8. Tiziana Dearing is our host.

  • In our Week in Review, we discuss the monumental change we experienced this week for everyone in Greater Boston and across the nation. The country watched in horror as a mob of pro-Trump extremists took over the U.S. Capitol Wednesday, leaving four people, and one police officer, dead. Boston Mayor Marty Walsh was officially nominated as President-elect Joe Biden's labor secretary, opening up a mayoral race here. Boston also paused its reopening again, amid a post-holiday coronavirus surge. Our guests are Tito Jackson, former Boston city councilor and CEO of Verdant Medical, a cannabis company, and Tom Nichols, professor of national security affairs at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island and the Harvard Extension School, and a senior advisor to The Lincoln Project.

This program aired on January 8, 2021.
