Maybe you're a big Paula Cole fan, or maybe you just know her from her 90's smash hits, "Where Have All The Cowboys Gone?" or the theme from Dawson's Creek.

But what you might not know is Cole was the first woman nominated for a Grammy, without collaborators, as Producer of the Year in 1997. She's been nominated 7 times, and won for "Best New Artist."

She grew up in Rockport, Massachusetts. With musicians as parents, who instilled a love of music, all music. Cole went to Berklee, sang with Peter Gabriel and eventually turned her focus to writing her own music. She stepped away for a bit from her major double-platinum success, and is getting back to her roots.

Cole is out now with her 11th album — American Quilt — a tapestry of jazz, folk, country covers of some of her musical inspirations. She joins us.
