If you are on Nantucket, on a clear night, you can actually see the Milky Way with the naked eye. But light pollution — increasingly from LED lights — is making that harder.

Local nonprofit Nantucket Lights is trying to keep the rare sight from disappearing.  We talk with WBUR climate and environment reporter Paula Moura to learn about the efforts of the nonprofit and the bylaw they are advancing on the island.

This segment aired on September 8, 2023.
