Lonnie Newburn of The Boston Shaker returns to Studio 3 to show us a couple of his favorite holiday cocktails: the Jack Rose and the Boulevardier.

The Jack Rose

From: "Robert Simonson's 3-Ingredient Cocktails"

Ingredients:

2 oz Apple Brandy (Newburn recommends: Beaver Pond Distillery's Aged Apple Brandy from Petersham, MA)

3/4 oz grenadine or pomegranate syrup (Newburn recommends: Pratt Standard True Grenadine Syrup)

3/4 oz fresh lemon juice

2 dashes cranberry bitters (Newburn recommends: Bittermens New England Spiced Cranberry Bitters)

Directions: Add all ingredients to a Boston Shaker. Add ice and shake for 10 seconds. Strain up in a coupe glass.

The Boulevardier

From: "Robert Simonson's 3-Ingredient Cocktails"

Ingredients:

1 oz Bourbon or Rye (Newburn recommends: Bully Boy Distillery from Roxbury)

1 oz Campari

1 oz Sweet Vermouth (Newburn recommends: Carpano Antica)

Garnish: Orange twist

Directions: Add all ingredients to mixing glass. Add ice and stir for 20 seconds. To garnish, express the oils from an orange peel over the cocktail.
